Copy the part or improve it?
Sometimes the right answer is a faithful replacement. Other times the original failure points to a design problem: a thin wall, sharp stress concentration, poor fastener location, unsupported tab, difficult material, or feature that can be simplified.

Replacement part CAD FAQ
What if the original is bent or worn?
The model does not have to reproduce damage. Surviving reference geometry, symmetry, fits, and mating components can be used to recover intended dimensions where the evidence is sufficient.
Can you recreate a part from photos only?
Photos can establish shape and relationships, but functional parts usually need at least a few known dimensions. The free review can identify the minimum measurements needed.
Can you change the material or manufacturing method?
Yes. The replacement can be reviewed around a different process, such as converting an unavailable molded part into a machined or 3D-printed version, when the geometry and application allow it.
